Sound Treatment Group Project

Kid at home all by their lonesome in the darkness. He begins hearing noises in the darkness of his home and he becomes paranoid. All the noises he hears are just normal noises you hear in real life. His paranoia makes him think that these sounds are going to get him in some way. He begins to make himself go crazy thinking about these noises and when they will stop.

Storyline:
Student is at school waiting for the bell of the last class to ring, so s/he can proceed home to do homework and then do nothing for the rest of the day. Once the night time approaches, the audience can begin to see that the main character sits at home uncomfortably at night time, because of these noises the s/he can hear. These noises are just coming from everyday home appliances,  and the wind from outside the window, but s/he thinks of these noises as noises that no one hears everyday.
Once s/he begins to grow into a state of paranoia, s/he begins to panic and runs out of the house and goes across the street. His/her heartbeat can be hear a mile away, as s/he stares inside the house through the front door to see if there was anything inside when s/he was in there. As s/he begins to walk back into the house, a dark shadow is seen outside. S/he walks into the house with a sigh of relieve, but forgets to close the front door. As the door stays open, the dark shadow is seen walking into the home. The main character realizes the draft from outside and closes the front door, and goes to his/her room. As s/he lays down into his/her bed at the end of the day, something is seen moving in the back. As s/he lays his/her head on the pillow on the bed, the shadow comes out gets the main character. The next morning comes at the school again, and inside the exact same classroom, in the exact same chair, all that is seen is a transparent outline of the main character.

  2. 1) what is the INTENT of the scene? (what is the scene used for dramatically)
To show how all of these natural noises can impact an average kid, and make a person go crazy.

    2) what are the PLOT POINTS? (points that move the story forward)
The student is at school. When he gets home, he hears noises and gets really paranoid. He believes that he sees things and hears scary sounds when in reality, there's nothing.

    3) what is the CLIMAX of each scene? (what is the turning point)
He runs out of his house, and this is when the paranoia kicks in.

    4) what is the RESOLUTION? (how is the theme resolved)
He walks back to the house, feeling slightly relieved, only to find that the sounds have not stopped.

    5) what is the CONCLUSION? (how does the scene end)
The shadow consumes the main character, and the next day at school, he's a ghost.

    6) what are the important LINES OF DIALOGUE? (contain story points)
The main character begins hearing noises that begins the paranoia. It gets to the point where he can't control it and he runs out of the house. When he returns, the shadow gets him and he's gone.

    7) which character CONTROLS the scene? (who pushes the story forward)
The intensity from the noises and illusions makes the story more better and fast pace.

    8) What suggestions do you have to improve the narrative?
If you were to combine with my storyline, the whole thing would turn out to be a masterpiece.

  3. I see a lot of scenes that can relate to Daniel's short film and they can both be combined to make a killer short film!
